Pearl Aday was reared in a musical family. She was adopted by her father “Meat Loaf” Aday, a world-famous musician, when he married her mother. She’s been quoted as saying she “grew up in a guitar case.” Which, according to her stories of her childhood, is not a big exaggeration. She says that she often took a pillow and blanket and slept in a guitar case while her father was in the studio. As a little girl, she would dress in sparkles during her father’s concerts and run scarves out to her father after every song. Pearl sang back up on her father’s musical tours from the time she turned 19 in 1984. She even sang backup for her father at an inaugural ball. Over the years, Pearl sang backup for Mtley Cre and Filter. Working for years in between gigs with her father, Pearl is now fronting her own eponymous band Pearl whose first release was “Little Immaculate White Fox” in 2010. On the single “Rock Child”, her hard rock chops and gravelly voice make you want to get up and slam dance.

Married to Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, they have decided to take a little time off from the music business on the birth of their first child Revel Young Ian.
