This month, Pearl Aday and guitarist Scott Ian of Anthrax celebrated the birth of their first child. They are both taking a break from their music careers to enjoy some much-needed down time with their newborn. The coming months will see the pair figuring out how to balance their new baby with their famous, rocking careers.
In addition to Aday being the front person in her very own band, aptly named Pearl, and working with her husband in the band, she and her husband have also opened the Velvet Revolver in the United Kingdom. Before starting her own band, Aday was a backup singer for Motley Crue and collaborated with the Los Angeles-based band, Stella.
To add to her extensive resume, Pearl was also portrayed in Elisabeth Lund’s T.V. movie in 2000 called To Hell and Back.
Perhaps the stint she was originally and most known for was in 1994 as her adopted dad’s back-up singer in Bat out of Hell II’s summer tour, to name the first.
Aday’s famous adopted dad is Meat Loaf. Shortly after marrying Pearl’s mom, Leslie Aday, Meat Loaf made the relationship official with the adoption. Pearl’s biological dad is the drummer for Janis Joplin’s band, Full Tilt Boogie.
